Laura M. Jordan: My mother inherited this building from her mother.

Katherine Ward Rivers Braswell: Jimmy Braswell bought this building from the Mangums. Other businesses that existed at this location include Chesterfield Feed and Seed owned by Laverne Hurst, Tomlinson’s Department Store, and The Cloth Shop. The County Library was located here at one time, and an upholstery shop was here when the building burned.

Dr. William Perry: Mr. Bradley Teal had a men’s shop at this location. Mr. Teal lived in the house on East Main Street that was later purchased by McIver Leppard.

James W. Jenkins: Chesterfield Feed and Seed (Purina Feed) was located here. Laverne Hurst owned the business, and his brother, Billy Hurst, worked for him. The business was re-located to South Page Street where it continues today.

Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: One of the earlier businesses at this location was Burch's Department Store owned by J. P. "Press" Burch. I don't recall that Tomlinson's was at this site; I remember that it was next to the dime store.
