Dr. William Perry: Jakie and Lou Davis operated a fine grocery store at this location.

Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: Two brothers, Jakie Davis and Lou Davis, along with their cousin, Arthur Davis, ran Davis Grocery at this location. I remember that John Teal, Crystal Miller's grandfather, worked here for many years. Later it was Campbell Furniture, owned by Harlan Campbell, which later moved across the street to where the Acuppuhjoe Cafe building is located today. Jones Furniture was located here as well before Luke and Carolyn Russell Gulledge opened Luke's Flowers. Today the building houses Douglas Mill Income Tax Service which was originally located at 152 Main Street.
