(Picture Copied) Style of Pure Oil Station That Stood on This Corner.
Dr. William Perry: Hossick Bittle had a grocery store here. The Pure Oil Station, with a distinctive steep roof style, was operated by Charles Pusser. Fay Bell built a law office here. Today this is the location of B and D Land Sales (Fay Bell and Johnny Davis).

Barbara Watson Eddins: My brother Ralph operated the Pure Oil Station at this site.

James W. Jenkins:The station in the photo is not the station that was located on this site, but it is similar to all the Pure Oil stations located throughout the South in the early part of the 20th century. I think Charlie Teal operated the Pure Oil station here as well.

Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: Scott Owen told me that Mr. Will Ballard ran a station here at one time. He was married to Belle Campbell Ballard, and they lived on Green Street further back from the station which was on the corner of Green and Main.
