Mal Garrison, Jr. House
Dr. William Perry: At this site was a house built in 1914 by Mr. Beauregard Crawford Moore. Mr. Moore was a fine merchant and from that family came what is today Moore's Department Stores. He had a large family, and they were reared here. The Moores moved to Wadesboro, NC, and the first Moore’s store was built there.

Katherine Ward Rivers Braswell: The Spencer family lived here when I was growing up. Mrs. Spencer ran a boarding house. I played with Sarah and Pearl. There were other children, but I don’t recall their names. Mrs. Spencer was an Evans before she married. The Spencers moved to Sumter.

Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: This is the house in which Charles W. “Plume” Rivers was born prematurely at 13 lbs. Mr. Lonnie had to run down the street to Dr. Gardner’s house, three houses east of this location, to get the doctor.
I remember when I was a teen-ager, "Miss" Fan Adams lived here. She was my Aunt Audrey Teal Adams's mother-in-law. Mal and Elaine Grooms Garrison are the current owners. They operate a floral business, Fresh Flower Market, on Green Street.
