Franklin Rayfield House

Pamela Sue Rayfield Wood: This was the home of Bart and Sarah "Sadie" Wactor Rayfield. The house was built by a Mr. Douglas who built four houses using this plan. This was the first house to have electricity in the immediate neighborhood. The house was built in 1924 at a cost of $4,000. Four Rayfield children, Thomas Wactor Rayfield (1926), Sara Kathryn Rayfield (1933, died as an infant), Franklin Shinn Rayfield (1934), and Pamela Sue Rayfield (1936) were born in this house. Bart lived in the house until his death at age 82. Sadie Rayfield lived in the house until her death, December 19, 1997. She was 96 years young at her death. Bart, Sadie and Thomas died at the house. The home was left to Pamela Rayfield Wood and Franklin Rayfield. Franklin, who lives in Grandview Missouri, bought the house and uses it on his frequent visits home.
