Laura Mangum Jordan: The I. Park Mangum family reared their eight children here. My mother, Sarah Ella Funderburk Mangum, owned several buildings on the north side of Main Street that she inherited from her mother. My father, Park Mangum, was at various times in his life, a teacher, farmer, County Treasurer, and Clerk of Court, and he served with distinction in each of these positions.
Today the house is owned by William (Bill) and Teresa McDermott Burch.
Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: I can remember "Miss" Ella well. My daddy rented his grocery store building from her. She always had her groceries delivered to her house. She was Billy and Jimmy Redfearn's grandmother. |
