J. Elmer Jordan House
Laura Mangum Jordan House

Laura Mangum Jordan: Elmer Jordan was the agriculture teacher at Chesterfield High School. He built this house in the late 50’s. Our yard had the first Zoysia grass in town, that I can recall, and the grass is still thriving today.

James W. Jenkins: I was in Mr. Jordan's homeroom class when I was in high school; I also had the pleasure of teaching with him and coaching his son Dennis. His daughter Gail was in my homeroom when she was in the 12th grade. Both Mr. Jordan and Dennis died far too young.

Elizabeth Ann Gaddy Rivers: Elmer Jordan was a teacher at Chesterfield High School when I was a student there. I later taught there with him from 1959 to 1963. One of the saddest days of my life occurred shortly after I left CHS–the day I got home from school and learned that Elmer had died suddenly that morning. He was a much-loved teacher and man in Chesterfield.
