J. D. Moore House

Sara Hazel Ellis: The Chapmans moved to Myrtle Beach and opened a restaurant (The Sea Captain, I think) Mr. Brasington was Superintendent of Schools from 1953 to 1955.

Katherine Ward Rivers Braswell: The Chapmans moved to Myrtle Beach in the 1940’s. They ran a wooden Chesterfield Inn which was razed and a brick building, also called Chesterfield Inn, was built. Later they opened The Sea Captain’s House.

James w. Jenkins: Mr. Chapman was a former mayor of Chesterfield. The Chapmans may have owned The Chesterfield Inn in Myrtle Beach as well. I think J. D. Moore worked for the County Road System. The house was re-located to the present position from the adjoining block to the west . It has been abandoned for some time. Mr. D. K. Brasington was a former Superintendent of Schools. They had two children, Kathryn and D. K, Jr..
