| James Winningham - 04/01/2005 South Carolina Indians, Indian Traders, and Ethnic Connections in 167 Hi: I spoke with you today in reference to the above CD book. I am very interested in learning as much about the WINNINGHAM families and their related families I can from this time period early 1600's. Going by the information I have on the CD it's written by Theresa Hicks. See index IX Contemporary Indians Edistos, Santees, PeeDees. Locations: Creeltown, Four Holes, Varnertown, White Oak Families: WINDHAM, DAVIDSON, WINNINGHAM, MUCKLEVANEY, CREEL, FRIENDLY, REEVES, HARRISON, WILLIS, MARTIN, PRATT/PLATT, WILDER, RUSSELL, DANGERFIELD, CLARK, EDINGS/EDDINGS I think the WINNINGHAMs tie in to the NC clan located in around Randolph Co., NC. Richard WINNINGHAM 1758-1814 but no proof. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated by this family. Please scroll down to section 9: Contemporary Indians (Edistos, Santees, PeeDees); page 253. Locations: Creeltown, Four Holes, Varnertown, White Oak Families: WINNINGHAM is the surname I am interested in. Whatever you have on the surname I would be interested in. I am doing research on the WINNINGHAM name. I am attempting to tie the WINNINGHAMs from Randolph Co., NC into the WINNINGHAMs from SC, AR, VA, TN, and etc. It's my theory that Richard WINNINGHAM, Sr. born 1758 in VA, died 1814 Randolph Co., NC and his brother, James WINNINGHAM born 1730 in VA, died before August 1785 in Granville Co., NC are related to these Native Americans from SC & other related families. Descendants of the WINNINGHAMs have been Governors, Senators, Military Leaders, War Chiefs, Doctors, Lawyers, Judges, Lawmen, Singers, Ministers, Longhunters, Frontiermen, Moviestars, and everything in between. Any help you can give, we of the WINNINGHAM clan would be deeply appreciated. James FOUBAR@webtv.net |
